The Gimp is a fantastic and free piece of software that can run on all major operating systems and can do nearly any graphic related task! I have been using GIMP for over two years now and really appreciated the many tutorials I had at hand for when I was starting out. Since the early days I have produced my own tutorials in an effort to give back to the open source community and so the purpose of this post is to share and acknowledge the hard work that people have put in into making these great tutorials of 2010!

Hello,
I am new to GIMP and i’m looking for a tutorial for how to create stencils – for the purpose of creating my own street art. I just downloaded 2.8 to my mac pro and could really use a hand as to how to get started. Thank you!

A very good tutorial by example for GIMP, I was looking out for he tutorial on How i can join the multiple photos to form a single one, I would really appreciate if i get it one.

It’s a really cool plugin, and many people were (and are still) confused about how to use it. Also, Liquid Rescale is another cool plugin, but Liquid Rescale is a little intimidating and not really for beginners. Anyway, it’s an otherwise interesting and very useful article, I like it.

I hadn’t seen quite a few of these, Michael, thanks for posting them. The best way to learn GIMP is to jump in with a tutorial and get your hands dirty. Even if you never use your finished product, you’ll learn some steps that you’ll be able to apply to future projects.
